The Source
2016 · sculpture · Granite, 24 karat gold, sand
"Where does it originate?... The inspiration, where does it come from?" asks the young artist to the Wiseman.
"Your soul is a mine, travel deep into its alleys and gold you will find."
The Source is a piece I conceived to give body to that endless search for the source, the source of inspiration. The granite river boulder shaped by hundreds of years of water chiseling curves and lines encapsulates the source, and from its heart flows a gold stream.
