On May 1st, 1947 23-year-old Evelyn McHale jumped from the eighty-sixth floor observation deck of the Empire State building and landed on a United Nation's limousine. Robert C. Wiles took a photograph of the tragedy. It was published in the May 12, 1947 issue of Life Magazine and became one of the most iconic images of the 20th century.

The sculpture installation Evelyn McHale is an interpretation of the photo, revisiting the impact of the image and the trace this woman left, both literally and physically. Also being true to her last wishes… she asked not to be seen.

Inside the car the radio is playing a 1947 NYC broadcast.
